CROW'S FEET

As we begin to age, the delicate skin on our faces begins to show the hands of time. For many people, the eyes are the most susceptible to these signs of aging, resulting in what is commonly known as crow’s feet. Crow’s feet develop over time from the millions of tiny muscle contractions that occur during squinting, blinking, and a host of other facial expressions.
Wrinkles around the eye area can be classified in two ways, static and dynamic. When you make expressive faces like smiling, dynamic wrinkles form then dissipate as your facial muscles return to a relaxed state. On the other hand, crow’s feet or static wrinkles do not go away when relaxed and may deepen with the culmination of dynamic wrinkles over time.
Whether you have dynamic or static wrinkles, there are various treatment options to reduce or even erase crow’s feet all together (well, at least temporarily anyway). Treatment choices will depend on the severity of the wrinkles around your eyes. We offer skincare products that stimulate new skin growth to prevent and heal fine lines and wrinkles. Fillers can be applied to temporarily smooth away wrinkles. Wrinkle relaxers like Botox can be injected to avoid further wrinkling and decrease the appearance of crow’s feet. Armed with several anti-aging treatments, our aestheticians like chemical peels, PRP treatments, and facials to keep your skin looking young. For more advanced wrinkles, Fractional Laser Resurfacing may be in order. Though laser therapies will require more downtime, they will stimulate collagen production, improve pigmentation, and texture issues. Please consult with one of our skin clinicians to find the best treatment choice when it comes to warding off aging signs of your skin.
